A Brief History Zhineng Qigong was founded by Professor Ming Pang in 1980. It contains basic elements of various methods of qigong including philosophical, medical and martial arts qigong, with origins in Taoist, Buddhist, Confucian and Hindu traditions. Professor Pang successfully linked contemporary science, medicine and philosophy into a complete system of understanding. Zhineng Qigong, with its Hunyuan Entirety Theory (positing the wholeness and oneness of existence), not only holds the key to overcoming illnesses and physical disabilities but also ventures into the spiritual dimension of the wisdom that underlies and supports normal intelligence. There are realms of potential super-intelligence in a human being that can be explored in scientific ways, through qigong science. The complete six levels of Zhineng Qigong were never explored fully due to the unexpected turn of events in China, but the first three which emphasise dynamic movements were taught openly and achieved great results.
In 1997 the China Sports Bureau made a comprehensive and scientific study of the major different qigong styles and methods practiced in China then and awarded Zhineng Qigong the top position for best health enhancing practice. Zhineng Qigong was therefore approved and highly recommended by the Chinese Government. It had been popular national-wide for many years and is now known world-wide.
Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Centre (Now Closed)
In 1988 Professor Pang established the Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Centre to cater for the needs of the mass population of China for a method of systematic qigong training and practice, including a complete university-level study course in qigong. Before long it had established its reputation as 'the biggest non-medicine hospital in the world'. In its heyday a small handful of Westerners came and received benefits. Huaxia's full name is Huaxia Zhineng Qigong Training Centre. Hua means China in Chinese, Xia is the first dynasty in Chinese history, so Huaxia represents China. Over the years more than 300,000 students/patients came through Huaxia, either at the Training Department to become Teacher/Healers or to seek treatment in the Recovery Departments. Huaxia had a remarkable track record. Over a ten-year period the Centre treated more than 200,000 patients with 400 different health problems, with a documented healing rate of 95% showing improvement.
